Visiting the Mountains of NC and not the smokies🏕️

Grandfather Mountain was my most recent North Carolina visit. The park is full of hikes and experiences. Even if you aren’t into hiking the swinging bridge is awesome. It’s windy so be prepared!! We hiked to Macrae Peak and it was surreal at the top. We got to view the Blue Ridge Mountains and it was gorgeous. Max Patch is in my top 10 of all time hikes. It’s super enjoyable and the mountains are gorgeous. The field you peak in is so nice for lounging in soft grass and talking. I had so much fun flower spotting too. Laurel River Trailhead was also a wonderful way to experience the mountains up close. It’s mostly flat and right next to the river with plenty of access.
