When I first started on my journey to shed those extra pounds and eventually lose 35 more pounds, I thought endless crunches were the answer. But I quickly learned there's more to revealing 'abs under fat' than just core workouts. First off, the biggest secret isn't a secret at all: nutrition plays a massive role. You can do all the core strengthening exercises in the world, but if you're not in a caloric deficit, that stubborn belly fat will stick around. I've found focusing on whole, unprocessed foods, plenty of protein to keep me full, and hydrating with lots of water has made the biggest difference. It's not about strict dieting, but more about making sustainable, healthier choices daily. Secondly, while core workouts are essential for strengthening your abdominal muscles, they don't directly burn fat off your belly. Think of it this way: you're building a strong foundation, but you need to remove the blanket covering it. That's where a combination of strength training for your whole body and consistent cardio comes in. Running, cycling, even brisk walking can contribute significantly to overall fat loss, which in turn helps reduce belly fat. Now, let's talk about those core workouts. The OCR mentioned 'Core workouts I'm doing so I can lose 35 more pounds,' and I can attest to their importance in building a strong midsection. I’ve incorporated exercises that engage my entire core, not just the rectus abdominis (the 'six-pack' muscles). Think planks (front and side!), bicycle crunches, leg raises, and Russian twists. The key is proper form and progressive overload—gradually making them harder as you get stronger. Don't just rush through reps; focus on the mind-muscle connection. Consistency is truly your best friend. It’s not about perfection, but about showing up most days. Some days I feel super motivated, others less so, but I remind myself of my goal to lose those 35 more pounds and how good it will feel to finally see the definition I'm working for. And remember, sleep and stress management are often overlooked but super important for hormone balance and fat loss. It's a marathon, not a sprint, and there will be ups and downs. But with the right approach—combining smart nutrition, overall activity, and targeted core workouts—you absolutely can start to uncover those amazing abs hiding 'under fat.'
