College study abroad camera roll!

We had the best weekend this weekend in London! I got to see all my best friends who are studying in Rome and meeting up with them was so refreshing and healing. We saw everything to see in London and overall just had the most amazing trip so here’s a few pics from my favorites in London! There’s so many so I’ll definitely do a part two, but I’m loving documenting these trips to look back on later❤️ #lemon8partner #lemon8college #collegelife #collegeaesthetic #studyabroad

... Read moreMy recent weekend in London, reuniting with friends from Rome, was absolutely unforgettable! It got me thinking about how to make the most of a quick trip to this incredible city, especially if you're on a college budget or studying abroad. If you're planning your own London adventure, here are some tips I picked up that I wish I knew beforehand! First off, getting around London is a breeze thanks to the Tube. Seriously, grab an Oyster card or just use your contactless bank card – it's so efficient and usually the quickest way to cover long distances. But don't forget to walk! That's how I stumbled upon some of the charming little streets, vibrant neighborhoods, and unexpected gems. Plus, it's a great way to save money and really soak in the city's unique vibe. I found that combining walking with public transport was the best strategy for covering a lot of ground without feeling rushed. When it comes to must-see spots, the city truly has it all. Beyond the famous landmarks like Buckingham Palace and the Houses of Parliament, I absolutely loved exploring the Royal Parks. Strolling through Hyde Park, Regent's Park, or St. James's Park on a sunny day, perhaps with a delicious ice cream in hand (like the one from that adorable truck in the OCR!), is pure bliss. There are so many iconic sights – definitely research and prioritize what you want to see, especially if your time is limited. I highly recommend looking up free museums like the British Museum, the National Gallery, or the Tate Modern – you could literally spend days in them, and they offer an amazing cultural experience without breaking the bank. For food, London is a global melting pot with options for every budget. While I loved the convenience of grabbing something quick from a Pret A Manger, trying a traditional pub meal (fish and chips, anyone?) is a must. And definitely keep an eye out for street food markets like Borough Market or Camden Market for some tasty and affordable bites. They're not just about food; they're experiences in themselves! Meeting up with friends from other study abroad programs was such a highlight. London is a fantastic hub for this, often an easy train or flight away from many European cities. Planning ahead for those reunions makes them even more special and ensures you get quality time together. Budgeting is key for any student traveler. Look into student discounts for attractions, use public transport efficiently, and take advantage of free activities. Picnics in the park are a great way to save on lunch, and many galleries have late-night openings which can offer a different perspective. Don't be afraid to explore areas slightly off the main tourist path; you often find more authentic experiences and better deals! Finally, one big takeaway is to embrace the unexpected. Some of my favorite memories weren't the big planned events, but the spontaneous moments, like discovering a quirky shop, finding a quiet bench with a perfect view of the Thames, or just people-watching in a bustling square. London truly is a city where you can wander and find something wonderful around every corner. It's safe to say I love London, and I hope these tips help you fall in love with it too!
