Exploring Florence as a study abroad student!
Since I was visiting one of my college friends in Rome this week, we decided to do a day trip to Florence! This was such a fun day, I’m so happy I got to see another part of Italy while I was here!
Florence, known for its rich history and stunning art, is a captivating city that every study abroad student should visit. As I woke up early to catch the train from Rome, the anticipation of experiencing Florence was exhilarating. Upon arrival, I was astounded by the breathtaking architecture, including the iconic Duomo, which truly defines the city's skyline. After fueling up with coffee and delectable cinnamon rolls at Melaleuca, I wandered through the bustling markets. The leather market, in particular, offered an abundance of exquisite leather goods and jewelry. I couldn't resist purchasing some adorable purses and stunning accessories to remember my trip. For lunch, we grabbed some tasty sandwiches before indulging in the delightful affogato, a classic Italian dessert. The highlight of my day was ending with a sumptuous pasta dinner at Trattoria Del 13 Gobbi, where the flavors transported me to culinary heaven. This day trip to Florence was not just a journey through the city, but a memorable experience that enriched my time abroad, blending culture, food, and friendships beautifully.
