My favorite uncle used to tell me before he passed away that the word of God would help me with everything I do. I’m not religious (or telling anyone to be), but I will forever be grateful for all the ways the Bible, the church, & my community has built me into the woman I am today. Growing up, I often found myself wrestling with doubts and fears, much like many others. What helped me navigate these challenges was embracing the principle of faith over fear. While I may not label myself as strictly religious, the wisdom found in spiritual teachings has profoundly comforted and guided me through difficult moments. For example, reflecting on verses such as Acts 17:28, which reminds us that 'For in him we live, move, and have our being,' has been especially grounding. Being part of a supportive church community or simply engaging with like-minded individuals who encourage faith-based growth has helped me to develop patience, humility, and compassion—qualities emphasized in Ephesians 4:2-3. These values do not only uplift the spirit but also enhance interpersonal relationships and personal resilience. On a creative front, the encouragement I’ve drawn from my faith journey has fueled my work as a poet and author. I have found that faith opens doors to unique insights and emotional depth, which enrich my writing and help me express universal human experiences.
