🌻 Saving Sunflower was such a cute YA romance! 🌻
This story follows Dominic and Claudette, two people who have some similarities in their childhoods but come from two completely different worlds.
Dominic is a rapper who doesn’t always know how to express or show love, and baby, his timing is NOT always the best! 😂 His childhood made him hard, and he’s learned to do whatever he needs to do to survive. Love and vulnerability aren’t exactly his strong suits.
Then we have Claudette, who is as GREEN as they come! 😂 An 18-year-old college freshman raised by her grandfather, she’s still figuring out life and everything that comes with it.
These two really shouldn’t work, but somehow, Dominic is drawn to Claudette, and she’s drawn to him. 👀🌻
I’m giving this one a 4.25/5⭐️📚📖!
My biggest issue was that the story dragged a little in one spot, which made the ending feel rushed. There was also a situation that happened in the story that we never really got an answer to, and I needed that explanation!
Overall, though, this was a great story! The Audible was good to me, but honestly, I wish I had just read the book on its own. Sometimes I just need to experience the words without the audio. 😂
Now, Claudette’s friend Autumn? BY FAR my least favorite character. Girl, you were getting on my nerves! 😒 On the other hand, Polo was such a great addition to the story. I really enjoyed his presence!
🌻 Overall: A cute YA romance with two characters from different worlds, a little growing up to do, and a connection neither of them expected. Despite a few things I wish had been handled differently, I enjoyed this one!
