Mood: To run or not 😅

Singapore
8/9 Edited to

... Read moreDeciding whether to go for a run or skip it can be surprisingly complicated and influenced by our mood more than we realize. On days when energy feels low or motivation wanes, I often debate with myself—should I push through the laziness or listen to my body and rest? What I’ve found helpful is starting with a simple, low-pressure approach: telling myself that even a light jog or a short walk counts as progress. This mindset reduces the mental barrier and often leads me to actually run longer than I planned. Another key factor is what I wear and the environment I choose. Putting on comfortable running shoes and clothes helps create a psychological readiness to move. Also, selecting a scenic route or a park instead of a treadmill sometimes gives me extra motivation to run because the changing scenery keeps my mind engaged. I also notice that timing matters—a quick run in the morning can boost my mood and set a positive tone for the day, while evening runs help me unwind and sleep better. The internal mood battles are real, especially when external factors like weather or a hectic schedule come into play. I’ve learned to honor days when my mood leans toward not running. Rest days improve my performance and prevent burnout. That's why balancing running days with rest or alternative low-impact activities like stretching or yoga feels vital to maintain a consistent and healthy routine. Ultimately, whether to run or not can be viewed less as a strict yes-or-no question and more as a moment to tune into what your body and mind really need. This mindset helps transform running from a chore into a more enjoyable, mood-sensitive practice that serves overall well-being.

Good Running Shoes are impt!! 👟
This year I signed up for my first 10km run! I had to train for around twice a week few months before the run. 🏃🏻‍♀️‍➡️🏃🏻‍♀️‍➡️One month in and I’m not making progress in pace and my knees are starting to hurt! I started to realise that perhaps I’m not getting the proper shoe supported I needed…

Staying fit in a 9-5 w/o breaking the bank
Staying fit while having a full time job is honestly not as hard as it seems… the only hard part is forcing yourself to stick to it (which is kinda hard I agree)😩 Some tips I picked up over time that made staying fit easier were: 📍Choose cheap, easy food Options: I started buying a bag of
