STOP SLEEPING ON THIS 🇲🇾 STATE

y spend one day in terengganu when you can spend ✨10 DAYS✨ in terengganu?

ok before i continue can i just say U GUYS R SRSLY ONE KIND OF AMAZING 😭 tldr, i decided to take a break frm this app late last yr cos Lemon8 made some HUGE funadmental shifts that i rlyyyy didnt agree with and which impacted engagement across the board (full story here) - but lo and behold, nine mths later, i check back in out of boredom only to realise to my own gaping shock that i hv somehow reached 1 MILLION VIEWS?? 😱😱

no joke guys i m literally back on this app bc of u n i hv decided to shelf my selfish want for metrics for the time being n focus on how i can contribute meaningfully to ur travel (n life) research!

anws yes as i was saying - y spend one day in terengganu when you can spend 10 days there?

ngl, literally everyone gets terengganu done n dusted in a day (if they even do, that is)... and for most part, if ure just gonna scratch the surface of kuala terengganu then yes ofc 1 day is ample time. but i wld strongly urge u to cross that bridge and explore beyond the main city centre (go as far as the setiu wetlands, if u can), bc there is just so much out of the main city area that somehow isnt making it to the travel books. istg i nvr even knew an ENTIRE LANDSCAPE existed just 5 mins past that bridge, and i was gobsmacked (n super crushed too, if im being honest) to learn that there was a whole other world out there ONLY on my last day out cos obvs by then it was too late ☹

needless to say, i didn’t get to do what I preach; but then again i make the mistakes so u don’t have to – so, don’t.

ALSO, if ur itinerary can help it, squeeze in an island extension. this state is surrounded by so many heavenly options i m not sure how ure gonna decide which to pick, let alone give it up altogether. (quick insiders’ tip: many locals say that if ure headed to either of the perhentians, u don’t have to go anywhere else... and that was literally what I did loll). i was just super surprised to learn that u cld even do a day trip to rawa island frm here, i always thought that cld only be accessed via johor 😲

... Read moreIf you have more time to explore Terengganu, I highly recommend diving deeper into its local culture and culinary scene. For instance, Kampong Losong is the heartbeat of all the famous keropok lekor, a local fish snack that you simply must try fresh from the source. Each bite carries the authentic flavors that define this coastal state's heritage. Another hidden gem is the Setiu Wetlands, a haven not widely promoted in typical travel guides. Crossing the iconic bridge out of Kuala Terengganu, you’ll enter a tranquil landscape of coconut-lined roads and sleepy villages. The wetlands offer bird-watching, kayaking, and peaceful stays at resorts like Katsetiu Villas, providing a unique glimpse into Terengganu’s natural beauty. Food lovers shouldn’t miss the chance to sample Terengganu’s distinctive laksa, known locally as laksam, and nasi dagang jala mas, a fragrant rice dish paired with sweet roti jala – surprisingly different from other Malaysian renditions. If islands are on your itinerary, besides the famous Perhentians, consider a day trip to Rawa Island, accessible from Terengganu and known for crystal-clear waters and vibrant marine life. Stay vigilant when planning boat trips: don’t confuse Marang and Merang; they are an hour apart and lead to different jetties. Lastly, respect local customs such as the Friday prayer closure time between 12:30-2:30 pm, when most businesses pause operations. This cultural insight helped me plan better and connect with the community respectfully. Terengganu’s charm lies in its slower pace, warm locals, and unhurried exploration. The more time you spend here, the richer your experience will be.

They sleep under this… every night!
Telco measured and confirmed levels were within safety limits. This is a real environmental observation and a parent’s concern. Sometimes peace of mind matters too. 电信公司检测后表示数值在安全范围内。 这是一次真实的环境测试与家长的担忧分享。 有时候,安心也很重要。 #peaceofmind #environmentawareness #homecheck #parentconcern
