Never a dull moment doing #animalcontrol in #fresno I’ll just say that. 🫠🙄 #pigsoftiktok #puppiesoftiktok #fyp
Working in animal control often feels like embarking on unpredictable adventures. I remember one particular call about abandoned animals left at a property — specifically, a puppy and some pigs. Situations like these reveal the harsh realities some animals face when owners move away and leave them behind. From my experience, rescuing pigs can be quite different from handling typical domestic pets. Pigs are intelligent, social creatures who require specific care and sometimes more patience during rescue operations. It took persistence to locate and safely secure the pigs on this call, which made the eventual successful rescue immensely rewarding. Similarly, caring for abandoned puppies involves immediate attention to their health and emotional needs. Puppies abandoned at unknown locations are often scared and vulnerable, so creating a calm environment is important to gain their trust. Throughout my time in animal control, responding to abandonment calls in Fresno has taught me that every rescue is unique and demands a tailored approach. The blend of frustration and fulfillment in these moments drives many of us who work in this field. Sharing these stories sheds light on the importance of animal welfare and encourages community awareness and responsibility.
