This messes with my head. Working on my skincare routine. #40s #glassskin #skincareroutine
Achieving glass skin, known for its smooth, luminous, and almost translucent appearance, is a popular skincare goal for many, especially in their 40s when the skin begins to show signs of aging. However, it's easy to get confused by images online that showcase glass skin but might actually be enhanced with filters. From my personal experience experimenting with skincare, I’ve found that consistency and the right products are key to obtaining genuine glass skin. I started by focusing on hydration and gentle exfoliation. Using a hydrating toner and essence daily helped to plump my skin, while chemical exfoliants like AHAs smoothed the texture without irritation. It's important to avoid harsh scrubs that can damage delicate skin and worsen fine lines. Incorporating serums with ingredients like hyaluronic acid and niacinamide improved my skin's moisture retention and brightness. Sun protection is another non-negotiable part of my routine. Wearing sunscreen every day shields the skin from UV damage, which accelerates aging and dullness. Over time, this has helped maintain a youthful glow. I also pay attention to layering my skincare products correctly — lightest to heaviest — to maximize absorption. And while makeup can create a filtered effect, achieving real glass skin is about nurturing your skin’s health from within. This process does take patience and adjustment as skin can react differently over time. But by understanding what glass skin truly means and focusing on skin wellness rather than just appearance, the results are rewarding and sustainable.
