✨The food cure to all sicknesses ✨

Growing up food in my house was used as medicine as well! The nutrition in Whole Foods are things that can cure even what medicine can’t!

INGREDIENTS:

• 2 tbsp butter or olive oil

• 1 small onion, diced

• 2 medium carrots, sliced thin

• 2 celery stalks, sliced

• 3 cloves garlic, minced

• 8 cups chicken broth (low sodium preferred)

• 2 cups cooked shredded chicken (rotisserie works great)

• 1 ½ cups fine egg noodles

• 1 tsp dried thyme

• 1 tsp dried parsley

• ½ tsp black pepper

• Salt to taste

• 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice (optional but brightens flavor)

DIRECTIONS:

1. In a large pot or Dutch oven, heat butter or oil over medium heat.

2. Add onion, carrots, and celery. Sauté for 5–7 minutes until vegetables begin to soften.

3. Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.

4. Pour in chicken broth. Stir in thyme, parsley, and black pepper. Bring to a gentle boil.

5. Reduce heat and simmer for 10–15 minutes to allow flavors to develop.

6. Add shredded chicken and fine egg noodles. Cook according to noodle package directions (usually 5–7 minutes). Stir occasionally so noodles don’t stick.

7. Taste and adjust salt as needed.

8. Stir in lemon juice if using.

... Read moreChicken noodle soup has long been celebrated not only for its comforting warmth but also for its natural healing properties. From personal experience, I’ve found that this classic soup works wonders when fighting off colds or simply to boost your immune system during the flu season. The combination of ingredients like garlic, onions, carrots, and celery provides essential vitamins and antioxidants that help reduce inflammation and support recovery. Garlic, in particular, is well-known for its antimicrobial qualities, while the herbs such as thyme and parsley add soothing antioxidants that further enhance the soup’s medicinal effects. Simmering the broth allows the nutrients to infuse deeply, making each spoonful both flavorful and nourishing. Adding shredded chicken offers a satisfying protein boost that helps rebuild strength. Including a splash of fresh lemon juice brightens the flavor while providing a dose of vitamin C, which is vital for immune function. In my experience, making chicken noodle soup from scratch, using low-sodium broth and fresh whole ingredients, ensures the best health benefits and taste. It’s a gentle, natural approach to feeling better that goes beyond what many over-the-counter medicines offer. Plus, the act of cooking and enjoying a homemade soup can be incredibly comforting and uplifting when you're under the weather. If you want to prevent getting sick, regularly eating nutrient-rich homemade soups like this can bolster your immune defenses. It’s a simple, delicious ritual I recommend to anyone looking to integrate food as a powerful form of medicine in their daily life.
