Hate forgetting things especially when I need to.

Forgetting things when you have ADHD isn’t just “oops, I forgot.” It’s walking into a room and having zero idea why you’re there. It’s putting your phone down and immediately losing it. It’s remembering something important at the worst possible time—like 2:13 AM. My brain doesn’t store information in neat folders. It throws it into a chaotic pile and hopes I’ll find it later.

The frustrating part is I care. I wanted to remember. I told myself I wouldn’t forget this time. But working memory with ADHD can feel like trying to hold water in your hands. The thought is there… and then it’s gone. If I don’t act on it immediately or write it down, it disappears into the void.

Then comes the guilt. “Why can’t I just remember normal things?” Meanwhile I can recall random facts from years ago but forget what someone told me five minutes ago. It’s not selective caring—it’s inconsistent recall.

Living with ADHD means constantly creating backups for your brain. Notes, alarms, reminders, sticky notes everywhere. Not because you’re irresponsible, but because your brain runs on limited RAM.

It’s not that I don’t care. My memory just doesn’t work the way people expect it to. #adhdroutine #adhdthings #adhdsymptoms
