Don’t make these fitness mistakes!

If you aren’t seeing progress or don’t want to make the same mistakes I did when I first started my fitness journey then read this! 👇

#1 : Eating too much/not enough.

It’s common to hear you can’t lose fat/make progress if you’re eating too much but you can also not be eating enough and this can also affect your progress, this is the case for almost all of my clients who are women.

You can’t properly put your body through a deficit if you’re already only eating like 800 calories (which can be a surprise to most people but it happens especially those who have busy schedules and skip breakfast).

I’d recommend tracking your whole food intake for at least 3 days to see how many calories on average you eat and find out if you’re under eating or overeating by comparing the results to a BMR calculator you can find online.

#2 : You need more intensity in your workouts.

Most of the time my clients tell me they sweat more when training with me vs on their own (not that sweating is the perfect indicator if you’re working hard enough) but it’s because sometimes we don’t know how to push ourselves and leave 2, 5 even 10 more reps left in us after we’ve completed a set and that needs to change!

You should be pushing yourself where you can barely get another rep after the end of your set without completely losing your form. If you can’t increase the weight to challenge yourself just yet then use other forms of progressive overload like doing more reps and changing the time under tension (slow down your reps and start doing like 3-5 second eccentrics which for instance is the movement when you’re going down in a squat or when your bringing the barbell down in a Bicep curl).

#3 : You’re not properly resting.

Rest is so important and easily overlooked but it can be the difference between making progress and not so don’t skip this!

Resting is things like drinking enough water to recover, getting 8 (sometimes more) hrs sleep, getting enough protein to recover and build muscle and even stretching.
