Full day of eating a BALANCED high protein diet!
This is what balance looks like to me and I wish I would’ve realized this all those years ago when I started my fitness journey instead of all the restrictions, labeling food as “good” and “bad” and making myself miserable because I thought in order to reach my fitness goals I needed to eat perfect.
Don’t chase perfection. Instead do these things… 👇
-Eat more protein (25-35g per meal) + 1-2 high protein snacks in between.
-Eat more Whole Foods and limit processed foods.
-Cook at home more often so you know what’s going into your food.

Hey everyone! Expanding on my last post about balancing a high-protein diet, I wanted to share a few more personal insights and practical tips that have truly transformed my fitness journey. When I first started out, I was so fixated on rigid rules, but honestly, finding what 'balance' means for me has been a game-changer. It’s not just about hitting macros; it’s about making sustainable choices that fuel my body and mind. One thing I've learned is that protein truly is your best friend when it comes to shaping your physique and feeling satisfied. It helps with muscle recovery after workouts, like when I'm pushing through a tough dumbbell row exercise, and keeps hunger at bay. I aim for that 25-35g per meal, plus snacks, but it doesn't always have to be chicken and rice! For breakfast, those tasty veggie egg bites are a staple for me – easy to make ahead and pack a decent protein punch. Lunch often involves something quick but hearty, and I've found that a well-made chicken supreme burrito can be incredibly satisfying and high in protein, perfectly fitting into my day. Dinner is where I really enjoy cooking at home. My go-to is often a big bowl of homemade chicken pasta. It feels indulgent but when made with lean protein and plenty of veggies, it's a fantastic way to end the day with around 45g of protein. The key for me has been getting creative with how I include protein in every meal, not just relying on obvious sources. Think about adding Greek yogurt to smoothies, cottage cheese to snacks, or even protein powder into oatmeal. And let's talk about those cravings! I used to completely restrict myself from anything 'fun,' but that just led to binges. Now, I practice intuitive eating, and sometimes that means including a treat. For example, a small serving of vanilla ice cream with a couple of homemade cookies can be completely fine, especially if it’s a high-protein version or if I've been consistent with my meals throughout the day. It’s all about fitting it into the bigger picture of your week, not just one perfect day. This approach has honestly revolutionized how I view food – no more 'good' or 'bad,' just choices that contribute to my overall well-being and fitness goals. Remember, it's a journey, not a destination. Consistency beats perfection every single time. By focusing on whole foods, cooking at home more often, and ensuring adequate protein intake, you’re not just chasing a specific look; you’re building a stronger, healthier you. Don't be afraid to experiment, find what works for your body, and most importantly, enjoy the process! Your fitness journey should empower you, not restrict you.
