... Read moreI recently tried making this iced brown sugar shaken espresso at home, and it quickly became a favorite morning pick-me-up for me and my family. What I love most about this recipe is how the brown sugar perfectly balances the bold espresso flavor, while the cinnamon adds a subtle warmth that complements the drink beautifully. Using cashew milk instead of regular dairy milk not only makes it a great option for those who are dairy-free but also gives it a naturally creamy texture that feels indulgent without being heavy. An important tip I learned is to shake the espresso and ice vigorously for at least 15-20 seconds. This shaking process creates a lovely frothy foam and chills the drink quickly, mimicking the famous Starbucks shaken espresso technique. I also experimented with adding a splash of vanilla extract for extra depth—it adds a gentle sweetness without overpowering the coffee. For presentation, I tried rimming the glass with brown sugar by dipping it in water first and then rolling it through the sugar, which gave a nice crunchy contrast on each sip. Stacking ice cubes high in the glass helped maintain the layered look and kept the drink cold longer, especially on warm days. If you're a fan of coffee shop beverages but want to keep costs down while customizing your drink, this recipe is a fantastic way to enjoy a refreshing, dairy-free iced espresso at home. It’s easy to whip up before heading out or for a cozy afternoon treat. Plus, using ingredients like cinnamon and brown sugar makes it feel like a special treat that’s healthy and homemade. Overall, this iced brown sugar shaken espresso hits all the right notes of being creamy, flavorful, and easy to prepare, making it a wonderful addition to your coffee recipe collection.
