SPRING 🦋 FACTS YOU PROBABLY DIDN’T KNOW!

Hey everyone! I've been absolutely loving spring lately, and after sharing some facts, I realized there's even MORE cool stuff to learn, especially for all the curious kids out there! My previous post covered some fantastic spring facts, but I found even more that blew my mind and I just had to share. It's like nature decided to put on its best show just for us! Did you know why spring is called 'spring'? It's because plants and flowers literally 'spring up' from the ground after winter! How cool is that? And speaking of coming back to life, have you ever noticed how the days start getting longer and warmer around this time? That's because of something called the Vernal Equinox, which usually happens in March. It's when day and night are almost equal in length, and after that, the days just keep getting sunnier! More time to play outside! My kids and I have been watching for baby animals, and it's just the cutest thing. Beyond the ducklings and bunnies I mentioned before, spring is also when lambs, chicks, and calves are born. It's like a big baby boom in the animal kingdom! We even saw some little birds building nests. Many birds return from warmer places in spring, singing their happy songs. It’s like they’re saying, "We're back!" And let's talk about the weather! Everyone talks about 'April showers,' right? Well, those rainy days are super important because they help all those beautiful flowers like tulips and daffodils grow. Without the rain, we wouldn't have those 'May flowers'! It’s a gentle reminder that even gloomy days can lead to something beautiful. Another fascinating thing I learned is about insects. While butterflies are beautiful (and spring is when we start seeing more of them!), bees are super busy in spring too. They fly from flower to flower, collecting nectar and pollen, which helps new plants grow. It's like they're little gardeners for nature! We even heard some frogs croaking near a pond recently, which is another sign that spring has truly arrived. Their noisy calls are how they find their mates! Spring is full of so much life and new beginnings, and these extra facts just make me appreciate it even more.
