If only he’d been with me⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Finished: If He Had Been With Me ☀️🌙📖

I actually really enjoyed this one 🤍 It definitely gave me more YA/high school first-love vibes than I normally gravitate toward, so at times I felt like I was reading from a younger perspective… but I still found myself invested in Autumn and Finn’s story.

The whole time I was reading I kept waiting for “the moment” to happen because you can feel something coming… and even though I thought I had prepared myself for it, when it finally hit I was still shocked. 🥲

A story about friendship, growing up, timing, love, and all the little “what ifs” that can stay with us. ☀️🌙

... Read moreReading "If He Had Been With Me" deeply resonated with me, especially because it captures the emotional intensity of young love with a sincere and relatable touch. The book skillfully portrays the complexity of friendship evolving into something more, which often feels like walking a tightrope between hope and fear. One aspect that stood out was the pacing—there’s a slow-building anticipation that keeps you invested, mirroring the real-life experience of waiting for a pivotal moment in a relationship. This made the story feel authentic and immersive. I also appreciated how the novel doesn't rush the characters’ growth but allows readers to see their struggles with timing and unspoken feelings. The vivid depiction of Autumn and Finn’s experiences reflects the universal 'what ifs' that linger after youthful connections—those moments where one wonders how things might have unfolded differently if circumstances had changed. This theme really hit home for me as I thought back on similar experiences in my own life. Moreover, the book has garnered significant attention, even becoming a #1 New York Times bestseller, which speaks to its widespread appeal. Fans on platforms like BookTok and Lemon8 are sharing their enthusiasm, highlighting how the story connects with a broad audience who appreciate heartfelt YA reads. If you enjoy stories about coming-of-age, first love, and the poignant nuances of teenage life, this book is definitely worth picking up. It’s a reminder of how timing and presence can shape relationships and how the echoes of these experiences often stay with us forever.
