More About

Im not sure why I find it so hard to figure out "about me's."

The more I open this cute little app and see people's about me's, I think, "Damn, how could I forget to mention something similar about myself, or how the he'll did I not think of that?!"

I have been trying to get to the root of me for 5 years, I think.

I had my last son 7 year's ago and did some intense therapy that got me out of my depression, but since having my last son, it messed with my hormones and threw me into some genetic mess that runs in my family.

You'll see in the picture it says former workout junkie. Working out was something that gave me a sense of purpose. I have always THRIVED when athletics was involved. I believe it really brought me close to who I was at my core.

Lipedema runs on my mother's side of the family. There have always been subtle signs for me, like my American girl doll ankles or the fact that I could never fully get rid of cellulite on my thighs.

When hormones are not balanced, I guess the Lipedema takes the reins.

Working out no longer helps shape or define my body. It just keeps my Lipedema from getting worse. So now I find working out almost pointless. The satisfaction of seeing all my hard work pay off is no longer there.

I made this a little deeper than I intended, but my inner thoughts started pouring through on this one 😅 I hope this makes sense to some and I think I may even do a second part on this to dive deeper.

if you stayed and read this, I have love for you 🫶🏼

Many women find themselves struggling with self-identity, especially after significant life changes such as childbirth. In these transitions, understanding one’s body and health becomes crucial. For instance, conditions like Lipedema can have profound emotional and physical impacts. It's essential to recognize the signs and seek support for both mental health and physical wellness. Engaging in community support helps mothers not feel alone in their struggles. Sharing our vulnerabilities encourages connection and understanding. While fitness has traditionally been a source of empowerment for many, it can feel disheartening when health challenges arise. Finding new ways to appreciate our bodies and redefine what wellness means could lead to personal growth and acceptance. Remember, every story matters and sharing could light the way for others on similar journeys. 🫶🏼
