Hey everyone! So, you've seen my tattoo tour, and you know I'm a hands-on learner with a bit of an impulse streak, especially when it comes to ink! As a budding #tattooapprentice, a lot of my journey has involved experimenting on myself, which is both thrilling and a huge learning curve. Doing your own tattoos, especially when you're just starting, is definitely an experience! You learn a lot about control, depth, and just how much your body can twitch when you're trying to concentrate. One of the pieces that always sparks curiosity is my String of Teeth tattoo. It might seem a bit unsettling to some, but for me, it represents something personal and a step in my artistic expression. Getting that intricate detail right on myself was a real test of patience, and I'm still amazed at how it turned out. Then there are the tattoos that connect to things I deeply love, like my Hidden Leaf Village tattoo and the Vessel Sleep Token tattoo. As a fellow fan, I wanted to carry a piece of these worlds with me. The Hidden Leaf one, of course, is a nod to my inner nerd, and placing it was a careful decision. The Vessel Sleep Token piece holds so much meaning for the band's fans, and capturing that essence on my skin felt incredibly special. These aren't just designs; they're personal symbols that resonate with my passions. I also have some more quirky ones, like the Eyeball Spider tattoo. This one was purely for fun and to push my creative boundaries. It's these kinds of self-done pieces that really help me practice new techniques and understand how different skin areas react. You might have seen my "No Face" from Spirited Away, or the "Art of Death" piece – each one tells a story of a moment in my learning process. One of the biggest lessons I've learned from my self-tattooing journey is the importance of sanitation and proper aftercare, even when you're just practicing on yourself. While I mentioned using 'cheap ink' in some early pieces, I've since learned the critical difference quality supplies make. It’s part of the apprentice growth, right? You make decisions, you learn, and you strive to do better. My goal now is to go back and fix and touch up many of these early pieces as my skills improve. It’s a testament to the journey – every imperfection is a step toward mastery.
