Card rarity explained in 60 seconds.

3/6 Edited to

... Read moreWhen it comes to card collecting, understanding the rarity level can really enhance your trading and investing decisions. Common cards, as the name suggests, are plentiful and often serve as the foundation of any card set. They are the easiest to obtain due to mass production, which means their value tends to be lower compared to rarer cards. In my experience, common cards are great for beginners to build a basic collection without a significant investment. They usually look nice and can be used in gameplay or casual trades. However, if you're interested in making your collection more valuable over time, focusing on limited or rare cards is key. Rare cards have restricted supply, making them harder to find and often more sought after by collectors. Some cards fall into the 'SP' category, which are strategic assets with extremely low supply and high demand, drastically increasing their value. A handy tip I picked up is to always check the rarity symbol or indicator on the card — usually found in the bottom corner. This lets you quickly assess how common or rare a card is before making a purchase or trade. The ACX Card Academy’s insight about rarity equating to supply really helped me understand why some cards hold more value. Whether you're collecting for fun or considering investing, recognizing these differences can help you make smarter choices and enjoy the trading card hobby to the fullest.
