Comment “link” and like this post for DM with details to all the products I use! (make sure you’re following me!)
Save this post 📌 for future reference! Detailed instructions:
1. Find and fit nail extensions for each finger
2. Prep natural nails (trim cuticles, file and buff), then add a thin layer of the dehydrator, then primer
*optional* buff the bottom half of the nail extensions before gluing them on (make it easier to buff them evenly)
3. Apply base coat to natural nails & cure 1min
4. Apply small amount of glue to natural nail and extension then press it on and hold 30 sec (try to make sure no air bubbles or lifting) I have tried tons of the gel x glue, but I wear gloves all day at work so this glue has worked best for me (3 weeks per set)
5. Buff top/shiny layer off the extensions
6. Apply base coat & cure 1min again
7. Apply gel color and cure 1min between layers (I did 2 here)
8. Apply white tip using thin design brush (I promise it’s easy just follow the shape of the nail!) & cure 1min
9. Apply top coat and cure 2 times (1min each)
*you can finish off wiping with alcohol or running nails under cold water to prevent any stickiness*
Okay ladies that’s the FULLLLLL process!! I’ve been doing these for over 2 years now and will never go back! Go at your own pace, pop on your favorite show & a face mask, and have some fun!! ✨💕💅🏼

Okay, ladies, let's dive even deeper into perfecting your DIY Gel X nail journey! As someone who truly believes it's *your sign to ditch the nail salon & start doing your own*, I want to share more insights, especially regarding those burning questions about glue and making the process seamless at home. One of the most frequent questions I get is, 'What glue do you use for Gel X nails?' and 'What's the best Gel X nail glue?' The secret to a long-lasting set truly starts with the right adhesive. While some might wonder, 'Can you use gel base coat as nail glue?', I generally wouldn't recommend it for full Gel X extensions. Base coats are designed to create a sticky layer for polish adhesion, not to securely bond a full nail tip for weeks. For Gel X, you need a specialized builder gel or a strong gel extension glue that cures under a UV/LED lamp. These are formulated to provide the flexibility and strength needed to keep your extensions firmly in place without lifting. My personal go-to, as mentioned, is one that withstands daily wear – especially since I wear gloves at work! Look for a 'UV gel glue for nails' that specifically states 'Gel X' or 'nail extension glue' on the packaging. Brands like Aprés, Kokoist, or even some reliable 'Una Gella nail glue gel' options are popular choices. Avoid trying to 'make nail glue at home' – it's not safe or effective for professional-looking, durable results. Investing in a good quality gel glue makes all the difference! Next up, 'Is Gel X easy to do at home?' Honestly, it's easier than you might think, especially after you get past the first set! The article outlines the core steps, but here are extra tips to make it even simpler. First, don't rush the prep – proper cuticle care, filing, and dehydrating are crucial for adhesion. Second, when applying the glue and pressing the tip, practice makes perfect! Start from the cuticle area and slowly press down towards the free edge to push out any air bubbles. If you see bubbles, lift carefully and reapply. This is where patience pays off for a flawless finish. Many beginners find 'DIY Gel X nail kits' incredibly helpful, as they often include everything you need to get started – tips, glue, a mini lamp, and prep solutions. It takes the guesswork out of gathering individual products. Remember, Gel X is a commitment, but a rewarding one. You'll save so much money over time, and the satisfaction of a perfect DIY manicure is unmatched. Don't be afraid to experiment with different tip shapes or gel colors. You'll master the technique in no time, and soon you'll be wondering why you ever paid for salon visits. Happy nailing!
