Academic outfits vs gendered jobs

🪞🕯️Women weren’t even allowed to have their own bank account without a male co-signer until the 70’s, so it’s not so far-fetched to think that perhaps gendered ideas of jobs STILL tie in with historical/traditional fashion. But maybe it’s not that, it could just be that women in academia are powerhouses of historical fashion sense. What do you think?
