Rating my first desk job

My very first desk job I ever had I started in 2020. I was a document reviewer for a pharmaceutical company. It did not require a degree and the pay was 20.19/hour to start back then, when I left a couple of years later, I was making 25/hour. I really enjoyed this job, and I liked the people. It was a fully on site job though, and I knew I could make more elsewhere since I am a good writer and have a degree.

Overall rating: 7/10

Pay: 20.19/hour

Requirements: High school or GED and several years of prior work experience

... Read moreStarting your career can be a daunting experience, especially in roles that may not require formal education. Document reviewing, particularly in sectors like pharmaceuticals, is an accessible entry point. This field often values attention to detail and prior experience over a degree, making it suitable for high school graduates and individuals pursuing vocational routes. In this job, I started at $20.19/hour in 2020, gradually increasing to $25/hour, showcasing the potential for wage growth as skills and experience develop. For those looking to enter the workforce or shift careers, understanding the requirements—like a high school diploma or GED—is crucial. Gaining experience in related tasks can also enhance job prospects. Additionally, engaging with supportive colleagues significantly affects job satisfaction and overall experience in any workplace. If you have a good writing background, this position could serve as a springboard to higher-paying jobs in the future.
