is doing too much actually sabotaging me?
I’d love to hear your guys thoughts!
I am a try hard, I’ll admit it. I definitely base too much of my worth on how much I accomplish in a day. I am almost always in ‘go mode’ and have a really hard time resting without feeling guilty.
all that being said, I’ve always approached wellness from a ‘do more’ lens and not from an ‘allow ease’ lens.
hearing her ask me if I was doing too much actually has shook me to my core because I’ve realized how hard I push myself. it’s no wonder my body feels overworked and in constant fight or flight — even when I’m doing self-care and “rejuvenating” activities.
has anyone else experienced this?

Many people experience the pressure to constantly achieve more, often equating their self-worth with productivity. This mindset can lead to elevated cortisol levels, causing stress and anxiety. It's vital to recognize that the 'go mode' of life may leave you feeling depleted. Implementing strategies such as mindfulness, regular breaks, and prioritizing overall well-being can significantly improve one’s quality of life. Embracing rest and understanding that balance is essential to wellness is crucial. Studies show that chronic high cortisol can lead to various health issues, including weight gain, sleep disturbances, and other hormonal imbalances. Taking a step back to reassess your daily routines and workloads can pave the way towards a more fulfilling and balanced life. Ask yourself, is doing too much truly benefiting you, or is it time to allow a little ease?
