As a woman we sometimes go through phases where we can have bad attitudes. If my early twenties I really had a terrible attitude and was ready to give to anyone who I felt messed up my mood or energy. It took years of doing but I was able to change my attitude. If you had a terrible attitude, I know you can relate to some of the triggers and ways that can help with changing your attitude.

But truly, changing your attitude is less about an overnight transformation and more about consistent, small shifts. One of the biggest breakthroughs for me was learning to *stop negative reactions before they escalated*. Instead of immediately snapping back or getting defensive, I started practicing a 'pause.' Just a few seconds to breathe, acknowledge the surge of emotion, and then consciously decide how to respond. Often, my bad attitude stemmed from deeper issues like stress, lack of sleep, or even just hunger. By identifying these underlying 'triggers,' I could address the root cause rather than just reacting to the surface-level irritation. For example, if I was consistently grumpy after long workdays, I'd plan a relaxing evening activity or ensure I had a healthy snack ready. *Protecting my peace* became a non-negotiable. This meant learning to say 'no' to commitments that drained me, limiting time with people who consistently brought me down, and even taking breaks from social media when it felt overwhelming. My environment profoundly impacted my mood, and taking control of it was crucial. It wasn't selfish; it was self-preservation. I also had to actively work on *losing that 'fighter's mentality'*. I used to approach every disagreement or challenge as a battle to be won. This only fueled my bad attitude. Instead, I began practicing empathy – trying to understand perspectives different from my own. It didn't mean agreeing, but it meant listening without immediately formulating a rebuttal. This shift helped me realize that most people aren't trying to 'get' me; they're just navigating their own challenges. Finally, seeing how my attitude impacted others was a huge wake-up call. When I started to realize that friends, family, and even colleagues looked up to me or were affected by my demeanor, it provided a powerful motivation to change. It made me want to be a source of positive energy, not someone who spread negativity. If you're looking to stop that 'terrible attitude' in its tracks, try incorporating daily gratitude practices, even for the smallest things. Journaling also became my safe space to vent and process emotions without unleashing them on others. And remember, it's okay to have off days, but it's how you choose to bounce back that truly defines your journey.
