SILKY BEANCURD (DDSD, 大豆小豆)
I’m a super fussy eater when it comes to soy beancurd, it has always only been Rochor Beancurd (Geylang branch) for me.
But one of my colleagues bought this for me some time back and I was honestly mind blown 🤯
The only downside? The stall is all the way in Chinatown… way too far for my usual cravings.
Since today is a PH, I figured it was the perfect day to make the trip and just look at that crazy queue!
I got the Pandan beancurd btw 🌿
(It’s a seasonal flavour, so check their IG for the seasonal menu on the calendar!)
As someone who’s very particular about soy beancurd, finding a place like DDSD (大豆小豆) in Chinatown was genuinely surprising and refreshing. Unlike the familiar taste of Rochor Beancurd in Geylang, DDSD offers a silky texture that feels both smooth and light, making it perfect for those who appreciate a delicate dessert. One thing to note is that DDSD keeps their menu dynamic with seasonal flavors like Pandan, which adds an aromatic twist to the classic soy beancurd. If you’re planning a visit, I highly recommend checking their Instagram regularly to catch the seasonal offerings. This approach keeps the experience exciting and gives you something new to look forward to each time. Despite the long queue, especially on public holidays, the wait is worth it. The vibrant atmosphere around Chinatown adds charm to the outing and makes the trip more enjoyable. For those concerned about distance, perhaps consider making an occasional treat out of it if you live further away. In my experience, silky beancurd from DDSD stands out because it has the right balance of firmness and smooth melt-in-the-mouth softness, unlike some versions which are too firm or too watery. It’s a great dessert for hot days and pairs wonderfully with the subtle, sweet notes of pandan or other seasonal flavors. If you’re exploring soy-based desserts, I suggest giving DDSD a try alongside more traditional spots like Rochor Beancurd. Both offer unique takes that cater to different preferences, enriching your dessert adventures with local Singaporean flavors.

May I ask where is this stall located?
