Why you should never settle for the last piece in store… I was only shown one necklace as it was their last (but new, as I was told) piece in yellow gold (which was what I wanted). She emphasised that there were only a total of 2 pieces left in SG. While I felt that the piece was pretty with all its natural grooves of a mother-of-pearl, something just did not sit quite right with me. Perhaps it was too groovy for my liking? I knew my dream piece is one that is iridescent and rainbow coloured.
A few days later, I reached out to my SA for an exchange if I do see a piece that I like better. She told me there’s no more stocks for yellow gold and only rose gold pieces available. I told her I’d go down to have a look anyway as the pendant is ultimately more important to me than the colour of hardware even though she kept telling me a that the natural patterns are all almost the same for a pendant my size (it’s not true!! 😅)
Look at 2nd picture : I took this picture during my first visit and couldn’t get over how the middle piece (the one I got) look so yellowish and dull compared to my small VCA necklace on the right. My VCA is much smaller!
Upon reaching the boutique the next day, she was busy serving another customer and asked her colleague to attend to me. I got lucky the second time as this SA was really helpful and showed me the different rose gold pieces that they have. He even went the extra mile and requested for other last gold piece from another outlet to be transferred there so that I can have a look at it and make my final decision 🥹 (I felt this should have been done from the get go during my first visit) So thankful as I understand he doesn’t make any commission off from my sale, but yet so helpful.

So do not let any SAs convince you that “they are almost the same” because they are not, especially when it comes to jewelry crafted with natural gemstone/shells! 😁
