My Engagement Ring Journey
JannPaul was my top choice due to them being very popular among singapore brides.
Went for a consultation with them after work around 7pm , we sat down and they gave us a detailed explanation on the diamond cuts. clarity and how to look for a good diamond.
It was nice to know all these information as we were also new to this journey. After the explanation and everything, it was around 9pm.
The sales person was already telling me to go for at least 1.5 carat. Told him I'm only looking at 1 carat and it feels a bit rush to decide on the spot. The price was 10k for 1 carat already, reason being it was Flawless , D colourless and VVS1 on clarity.
Then he went on saying, they were closing soon and I should choose the diamond first. This was when I felt he wanted to push for sales. Not very genuine in finding the ring I'm looking for.
Didn't feel good about the experience so I never go back to them.

For anyone embarking on this journey, consider scheduling multiple consultations and don’t hesitate to walk away if a jeweler seems more interested in making a quick sale than in helping you find the right ring. Also, exploring different diamond cuts can impact the ring’s brilliance and overall look—some cuts might suit your style better than others. Finally, keep in mind the advice often seen on wedding sites: the “three months' salary” rule isn’t a must. Buy what feels right for you and your partner. Quality and emotional value matter just as much as carat size or brand reputation when choosing an engagement ring.
