Hair hacks from a hairstylist

Save these hacks and thank me later

... Read moreYou know how sometimes your hair just feels… off? Dull, heavy, maybe even a bit greasy even after a wash? I totally get it! For the longest time, I couldn't figure out why my usually vibrant hair was looking so lackluster. That’s when I stumbled upon the magic of clarifying shampoo, and let me tell you, it was a total game-changer for my routine. My biggest secret, and one I truly couldn't live without, is using a clarifying shampoo once a month. Seriously, just once! Before I started doing this, I didn't realize how much product buildup, hard water minerals, and even environmental pollutants were clinging to my strands and, more importantly, my scalp. All that gunk can really weigh your hair down, making it look dull, feel limp, and even prevent your other amazing hair products from working their best. It's like trying to moisturize your skin without cleansing it first – it just won't be as effective! When it comes to using it, I focus primarily on my scalp. I gently massage it in, letting it work its magic for a minute or two, then rinse thoroughly. Because clarifying shampoos are designed to deep clean, they can sometimes leave your hair feeling a little stripped. That's why a crucial follow-up for me is always a really good, hydrating deep conditioner or hair mask. It helps to replenish any lost moisture, leaving my hair feeling fresh, clean, and soft, not squeaky or dry. Choosing the right clarifying shampoo can make a difference too. I look for formulas that are gentle yet effective, often opting for ones with ingredients like apple cider vinegar or salicylic acid, which are great for dissolving buildup without being overly harsh. I always avoid anything with heavy sulfates if my hair is feeling particularly sensitive, though sometimes a stronger formula is needed for really stubborn buildup. This monthly detox also plays a huge role in keeping my scalp healthy, which is absolutely key for hair growth. With a clean scalp, my scalp serum can penetrate much better and really do its job nourishing the follicles. It's like giving your hair roots a fresh start! And after getting all that buildup out, my hair is much more receptive to my other styling products. When I apply my hair oil mids to ends on damp hair, it truly locks in moisture and helps control frizz so much more effectively. The difference in shine and overall manageability is incredible. Trust me, incorporating this simple step into your routine can make a world of difference. It's not about over-washing or stripping your hair; it's about resetting it. Think of it as a periodic refresh button for your hair and scalp. My hair has never felt healthier, looked shinier, or grown stronger since I started this once-a-month clarifying ritual. Give it a try, and you might just find your own hair transformation!

Heat Protectants I use as a hairstylist🩷
Heat protection is vital to keep your hair healthy!! Heat is so damaging to our hair, using a heat protectant and turning down the heat can preserve hair health and also hair color!! Blondes who tend to use more heat on their hair can actually dull the look of their blonde hair when not taking care
