My goal is to use Sunday as a dedicated day to RESTART, RESET, and REFOCUS, ensuring the work week goes smoothly. It’s amazing how much a little preparation can ease that Sunday scaries feeling.
For me, the 'RESTART' part often involves tidying up my space. I don't mean a deep clean, but rather putting things back in their place, clearing my desk, and making sure my living area feels fresh. There's something incredibly calming about starting the week with a clutter-free environment. I also like to do a quick laundry load so I have fresh clothes ready. It’s a small thing, but it removes a tiny bit of morning decision-making pressure.
Then comes the 'RESET' phase, which is more about mental preparation. I usually spend some time reflecting on the past week – what went well, what could be improved. This isn't about dwelling on negatives, but learning and letting go. I also take a few minutes to think about my intentions for the upcoming week. It helps me to feel grounded and clear about my priorities. Sometimes, I’ll journal for a bit or just sit quietly with a cup of tea, allowing myself to simply be present.
Finally, 'REFOCUS' is where the practical planning comes in. This is where I tackle things like meal prepping – even if it’s just chopping vegetables or making a big batch of soup. I also take a quick look at my calendar for the week to anticipate any busy days or important meetings. Planning my outfits for the first few days also saves me precious time and mental energy in the mornings. I find that by dedicating a few hours on Sunday to these activities, I step into Monday feeling much more in control and less overwhelmed. It’s truly about setting myself up for success without burning out before the week even begins. Give it a try; you might be surprised how much better your Mondays feel!
