Spiritual Journey 🤍
As I get older, my relationship with God grows deeper. We often hear about the spiritual journey we embark on, but what many don't mention is just how hard this journey really is. It’s not always easy to stay consistent in reading my Bible or practicing what the word says about how we should live. There are days when it feels like a real struggle, especially when I find myself scrolling endlessly through TikTok for hours or binge-watching shows like 90 Day Fiancé. I have sooo much time for other things but not that? That is strange!
But why is it so hard? What is it about this journey of faith that feels like such a battle sometimes? As I reflect on it, I realize that it's not just a physical or emotional challenge—it’s a spiritual one. I often find myself caught in the middle of a spiritual warfare. The fight, though, isn't even mine. I’m merely a vessel, and the real battle is between forces I can’t see.
I remember what Paul said (and I'm paraphrasing here), “The more I desire to do good, the more evil is all around me.” It's a reminder that the closer we get to God and the more we try to live by His word, the harder it may get. The resistance we face isn’t just a coincidence. It’s a manifestation of the spiritual conflict at work in our lives.
While this struggle is real and often feels overwhelming, it’s important to remember that we’re not alone. God equips us for these challenges, even when it seems like the easier path—scrolling mindlessly or losing ourselves in distractions—is the more tempting option. Each step, no matter how small or imperfect, is part of the journey, and that’s what counts.
At times, it may feel like we’re not making much progress, but those small moments of obedience, no matter how difficult, are still victories. And through those moments, we get a little closer to the person God is calling us to be.
