Here’s The Thing…

2025/4/9 Edited to

... Read moreOMG, you guys! I've been absolutely hooked on Marvel Rivals lately, and I just had to share my thoughts on one of my absolute favorite heroes to play as: The Thing! Seriously, if you're looking for a character that feels incredibly satisfying to command, giving you that raw, brute force power, then Ben Grimm is your guy. First off, can we talk about the character models in this game? They've done such an amazing job capturing the essence of each hero. With The Thing, it's not just about his iconic rocky exterior; it's the attention to detail in his animations and how every punch and move feels grounded and powerful. You can really feel the weight behind him, from the way he stands to the way he charges across the map. It's these little visual details that make the characters feel so real and immerse you in the Rivals universe. You know, sometimes it's the subtle things, like the way a character's costume moves or how their body is proportioned, that really gets players talking. It shows the devs put their heart into everything we see and *know*. Now, let's get into his kit, because that's where the real SMASHING fun begins! His signature ability, CLOBBERIN' TIME, is just as epic as it sounds. There's nothing quite like launching enemies into the air with immense power. It's a fantastic crowd control tool and sets up some incredible team plays. I usually try to save it for when opponents are grouped up – the satisfaction of seeing multiple enemies fly is unmatched! Then there's YANCY STREET CHARGE. This ability is pure chaos in the best way possible. LSHIFT continuously charge forward, launching up enemies and leaving behind a zone that prevents mobility? Yes, please! It’s perfect for disrupting enemy formations or catching fleeing opponents. I’ve found it invaluable for locking down key areas or protecting my teammates. Using it strategically can really turn the tide of a skirmish. And for those sticky situations, EMBATTLED LEAP is a lifesaver. Being able to jump towards an ally and provide damage reduction for both of you? That’s team play gold right there. It’s not just an escape; it's a way to reinforce a struggling teammate or initiate a focused push with added survivability. It makes you feel like the ultimate protector, always there to back up your friends. But what truly makes The Thing a phenomenal tank is his passive, UNYIELDING WILL. Being immune to launch-up, knock-back, and other displacement effects means you're an immovable force on the battlefield. This is a game-changer because you can stand your ground, absorb damage, and continue dishing out punishment without being constantly repositioned. It allows you to maintain control of objectives and be a truly reliable frontline. Honestly, playing as The Thing has made my Marvel Rivals experience so much more enjoyable. It’s not just about his powerful abilities; it's about how well his design, his iconic phrases, and his gameplay all come together to create a character that feels truly authentic to the Marvel universe. If you haven't tried him yet, you definitely should! Let me know what you think of his kit in the comments!
