1. I want my rook done next on my left ear! I think it’s so cute especially with a hoop + charm!
2. Double helix on my left ear. This has been on my list for a while. I just don’t have the greatest time healing helix piercings… so I’m definitely a little nervous.
3. A flat on my right ear. I think this is such a fun piercing and I’m obsessed with all the stud jewelry options out there.
4. Stacked lobes is definitely newer on my list but it’s so cute to spice up your other lobe piercings.
5 & 6. OK so to be transparent I LOVE this look but I’m not sure if I’ll ever get it. I am obsessed with this, especially since I have a double nostril and a septum already. I’m not sure if I’m 100% committed to having it on myself and I know if I were to change my mind this area scares a lot easier than other places of the body. 🙃 but comment if I should should get it or not cause I’m VERY conflicted!
... Read moreHey piercing fam! I loved sharing my current piercing wishlist, and seeing all your reactions has got me thinking even more about these gorgeous additions. It's not just about wanting them; it's also about knowing what to expect, right? So, let's dive a little deeper into some of these!
First up, that rook piercing I'm eyeing for my left ear. From what I’ve heard and seen, it's definitely a unique spot in the cartilage, giving such an edgy yet delicate vibe, especially with a tiny hoop and charm. Many people describe the initial pain as a sharp pinch, but it's usually quick. Healing can take anywhere from 6 to 12 months, and consistent cleaning with saline solution is key. The anatomy of your ear really matters for this one, so make sure your piercer checks if you have enough of that inner ridge!
Then there's the double helix piercing – oh, how I adore the look, but my past helix healing hasn't been the smoothest! For anyone else considering a double forward helix or even a triple helix piercing, here’s what I’ve learned: patience is your best friend. Keep up with your aftercare, avoid sleeping on it, and be super careful with hair snagging. Titanium flat-back labrets are usually recommended for initial jewelry to minimize irritation. The 'double forward helix piercing close up' shots I've seen on Instagram really highlight how beautifully these can frame the ear, but it's definitely a commitment to the healing process!
My flat piercing on the right ear is another strong contender. I'm obsessed with the endless stud jewelry options – from simple gems to intricate clusters. The flat part of the cartilage offers a larger surface area, which can sometimes make healing a bit more straightforward than other cartilage piercings, but again, listen to your body and your piercer. Finding the 'best piercing' for your ear anatomy is crucial, and a flat is so versatile.
And who can ignore stacked lobes? This is such a brilliant way to 'spice up your other lobe piercings' without going for another cartilage piercing. It creates a really stylish, curated look, and healing is generally much faster than cartilage. It’s perfect if you want to add some flair with minimal fuss.
As for the more adventurous medusa and central labret combo... I'm still so conflicted! Facial piercings definitely make a statement. Healing for oral piercings can be tricky due to moisture and movement, and they do carry a higher risk of gum or tooth damage if not properly placed or if the jewelry isn't appropriate. Plus, the concern about 'scaring a lot easier' is real for me. Before committing to something like a piercing near the mouth or any facial piercing, really do your research on long-term implications and potential scarring.
