Surviving. You got this. 🍋
Came to find out, I’m not alone in this “trauma SA struggle bus”, because the older I get, and the more I meet strong women, we share our experiences and understand that most of us have been SA, went through our survival phase and we come to thrive. So if you are at the beginning of this survival journey do not give up. Your life will get better. I remember when it first happened, I didn’t see myself alive 5 years later, I thought I was never going to make it. Yet here we are, almost 13, with a beautiful life, perfect family and the most loving and caring husband one can dream. Do not let the a$$hole win, do not ever give up.
Surviving trauma is a path many navigate, and understanding that you're not alone is key to healing. As society becomes more aware of trauma and its effects, the conversations around sexual assault (SA) survivors are gaining momentum. Connecting with others who have faced similar challenges can provide invaluable support and encouragement. Engaging in communities, whether online or in-person, allows individuals to share their stories, insights, and coping strategies that foster resilience. In workshops, support groups, or even social media platforms, the power of shared experiences strengthens the resolve of those on their healing journeys. It’s important to remember that recovery takes time. The journey to thrive after experiencing SA can include various therapeutic outlets such as counseling, mindfulness, and creating art. Resources like educational programs equip survivors with tools to reclaim their narratives and build empowering futures. It isn't just about surviving; it’s about thriving and leading fulfilling lives post-trauma. Remember, you are strong, and there are many pathways to healing. Embrace your story and continue to seek joy and fulfillment.

My “best friend” did that to me consistently over the course of 6 years too… two years I finally got the courage to cut him out. I’m finally beginning to heal but it will definitely be a long road
