A Realistic WIEIAD | 101g p | 31g fiber

I’m back to losing weight! I gained a few lbs after hitting my low of 143 and I am now 150.4lbs 🥲. I am using a slow approach of losing weight so I’m eating to lose .5lb-1lb a week. sometimes I will eat maintenance calories. I officially started june 12 (I was 152.4 since it was that time in my cycle) and 150.4 lbs as of 6/19/26.

I’m also working out (goal of 3x a week). I do some strength but mostly take walks as workouts. I am relatively active in general (8-10k steps / day), mostly due to keeping up with my kids and cleaning up after them haha.

I am working towards my BS of Science in Nutrition with the goal of eventually obtaining my MS and becoming a RD. I have only completed one nutrition related class so far but I’ll be learning more in the near future!

Read moreBased on my own experience with weight loss, adopting a realistic WIEIAD (What I Eat In A Day) plan centered around high protein and fiber intake can make a significant difference in managing hunger and promoting fat loss. Consuming about 101 grams of protein daily helps preserve lean muscle mass during calorie reduction, which supports a healthy metabolism. Meanwhile, including 31 grams of fiber from various sources enhances satiety and supports digestive health. In my WIEIAD, I incorporate protein-packed foods such as premier protein caramel macchiato shakes with 30 to 31 grams of protein and low calorie counts around 160, as well as snacks like mini beef sticks and Greek yogurt remix combinations. These help me hit my protein goals while keeping calories moderate. I also enjoy high-fiber choices like vegetables and occasional fruit, which complement my total fiber intake. My weight loss journey involves a slow approach aiming for about 0.5 to 1 lb loss per week, which allows me to remain flexible by sometimes eating at maintenance calories. This method reduces the risk of burnout and preserves energy levels. Importantly, maintaining an active lifestyle with about 8,000 to 10,000 steps a day—mostly by chasing after my kids and routine chores—boosts my daily calorie expenditure. Additionally, combining my nutrition efforts with workouts three times a week, including strength training and walking, supports fat loss and overall fitness. Strength training is essential for retaining muscle mass, which helps avoid the metabolism slowdown that sometimes occurs during dieting. This practical and achievable WIEIAD approach aligns well with my studies pursuing a BS in Nutrition, preparing me to understand the science behind these habits better and eventually become a Registered Dietitian. Setting realistic goals and adopting a balanced eating pattern focused on high protein and fiber can help make sustained weight loss feel manageable and effective for many individuals.
