My yummiest broccoli salad

Hey besties! The sun was shining and we had a lunch bbq to attend today. I decided to whip up my broccoli salad! Super simple and you can adjust it so easily to your likes!

🔅raw washed broccoli approx. 4 cups

🔅apple cider vinegar about a fourth of a cup

🔅 whatever seasonings you are craving, I used garlic powder, onion powder, pepper and Himalayan salt

🔅 you’ll want to add about a cup or a heaping cup of mayonnaise. mix your seasonings with your apple cider vinegar and your mayonnaise. Set aside to let it infuse. Put your raw washed broccoli in a large bowl next, you’ll add a bag of the bacon bits. Make sure you use the real bacon bits and not the salad topper ones. Then add about 2 cups of whatever cheese you like next you’ll add 3/4 of this container of sunflower seeds.

Mix mix mix. Now pour your seasonings and wet ingredients over the top. Mix really well cover and put in the fridge for at least an hour before you eat it whenever I make this dish and take it to a gathering I always bring home an empty bowl and have at least someone asked me for the recipe if you decide to make this, let me know how you altered it to make it your own. 🩷 #salad #cheese #yum #potluck #DELICIOUS

... Read moreIf you're looking to elevate your broccoli salad even further, here are some tips and personal experiences that might inspire you. I often like to add a bit of sweetness balanced with tang to complement the savory flavors — a dash of honey or a sprinkle of dried cranberries can work wonders. The apple cider vinegar not only brightens the salad but also tenderizes the broccoli slightly, making every bite more enjoyable. When choosing your bacon bits, it's important to opt for real smoked bacon rather than imitation salad toppers, as the smoky flavor adds a depth that really stands out. I also highly recommend experimenting with different types of cheese; sharp cheddar provides a robust flavor, but mixing in some Parmesan or even a mild Monterey Jack can add an interesting twist. Sunflower seeds are a great way to introduce a crunchy texture, but I sometimes swap them for toasted almonds or pumpkin seeds for variety and extra nutrition. For the dressing, the combination of mayonnaise and apple cider vinegar is classic, but adding a little mustard or Greek yogurt can lighten it up and add complexity. Give the salad at least an hour to chill so the flavors meld beautifully. This recipe is super adaptable — if you want to make it healthier, try switching to a light mayo or adding Greek yogurt. Also, feel free to add chopped red onions or celery for extra crunch and freshness. I've found that bringing this salad to gatherings often makes me the star of the potluck because it’s a dish that pleases many palates. Don’t hesitate to tweak the seasoning to suit your taste buds; garlic powder and onion powder are versatile staples, but fresh herbs like dill or parsley can add a nice herbal touch. Let me know how you personalize your broccoli salad — it’s always fun to see new variations!
