Get it off Your mind

You ever have that one thought, situation, current issue, those things that you just can’t seem to ignore? They drive you crazy? Keep you up at night?

Too many days were spent just thinking of the same things over, and over, and over until I said enough is enough. It might be redundant to say but on top of seeking help (therapy, counseling, etc) it’s time for you to find ways to release these things without letting the whole world know. Just in case you need it, here’s a couple things I’ve done that have helped me!

- Try writing them out on a piece of paper or in a journal. Sometimes writing can seem like a chore that we know we must do but we just don’t want to do. But it helps to put those thoughts out into the world. Everything you feel, all those thoughts, where your heart is at put it on a piece of paper. Its for your eyes only so write to your hearts content.

- Disconnect from the internet for a couple minutes everyday. Sometimes we get so caught up in our social media lives that we let it get in the way of what really matters. Try putting your devices on DND and go for a walk, get to cleaning, pick up that book or painting you haven’t finished. Let your brain catch up with whats going on and by the end you’ll have some mental clarity.

- Join a peer support group. You will feel like you found those who understand what you are feeling. Sometimes we feel as though our friends, family, even our partners can understand so much of what we struggle with. A support group is where you can vent to your hearts content and someone or a few someones will say “You know what I know what you mean because…” and hearing their stories could bring you that sense of “Wow you get it” that you’ve been needing.

- Out with the old and in with the new. Its true when they say things around us hold energy, hold memories. Maybe its time to do some early spring cleaning to get rid of the things that could be clouding your mental clarity. That thing your ex got you for a special anniversary? Toss it, donate it. The planner that had old dreams that lies as a haunting memory? Throw it out and start a new one. Let go of what troubles you cause is it really worth the constant stress? The constant hear spinning with a million thoughts?

Find things that bring you back to ground zero. Gather up all the words and thoughts flying and make sense of what your trying to do. Take it day by day and remind yourself that you are doing this for you. 🩷
