My recent 3-day trip was a whirlwind, packed with unique experiences that I'm excited to share, especially if you're wondering what to do in the Emerald City during this beautiful spring month.
Our journey started with an unexpected bit of roadside drama – yes, a truck fire! But even that couldn't dampen our spirits for long. It just added to the adventure, making our eventual arrival in Seattle feel even more triumphant. After settling into our hotel, the city's evening glow, with its captivating waterfront and twinkling buildings, was the perfect welcome.
Day two was where the real Seattle exploration began! We kicked things off the right way, grabbing a delicious local coffee – because, let's be honest, you can't visit Seattle without diving into its legendary coffee scene. Fueled up, we spent the entire day walking, soaking in the city's vibrant atmosphere. One of my favorite finds was stumbling upon a fun Bigfoot statue outside the Seattle Shirt Company store – it was such a quirky, unexpected photo op! We also made our way to the PopCo Museum, where the impressive displays, like the Iron Man helmet, really brought out my inner fan. If you love pop culture, it's a must-visit.
But no trip to Seattle would be complete without a visit to Pike Place Market! While not explicitly in my original quick recap, the sight of the "Public Market Center" sign was a definite highlight. The energy there is infectious, with fishmongers tossing their wares, vibrant flower stalls, and endless artisan crafts. It's truly an iconic experience that perfectly captures Seattle's unique spirit. From there, we explored more of the downtown area and the stunning waterfront, taking in the picturesque Puget Sound views.
To cap off our action-packed day, we headed to a baseball game. Even though it was an away team (my beloved Arizona Diamondbacks!), the atmosphere was electric. There's something special about catching a game in a new city, soaking in the local sports culture. It was a fantastic way to experience a different side of Seattle's entertainment scene, complete with stadium snacks and enthusiastic crowds.
If you're planning your own trip to Seattle in April, be prepared for a mix of weather – it can be famously rainy, but often gives way to beautiful, clear skies, making everything incredibly green and fresh. Layers are your best friend! And don't shy away from walking; the city is very pedestrian-friendly, especially around the downtown core and waterfront. You'll discover so many hidden gems just by exploring on foot. Even a short trip can be incredibly rich and memorable, offering a taste of everything from quirky roadside stops to iconic landmarks and lively entertainment. Highly recommend!
