Okay, so you've made it to the infamous Puppet Ganon fight in The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, right? And now you're facing his slithering, intimidating snake mode. Trust me, I've been there! This stage of the fight can be a real head-scratcher if you don't know the tricks, but with a few pointers, you'll have him wrapped up in no time. I remember my first playthrough; this particular form had me pulling my hair out until I figured out its rhythm! First things first, let's talk preparation. Before you even enter the boss room, make sure your quiver is full of arrows. Seriously, load up! Arrows are going to be your best friend here. If you've managed to snag the Magic Meter upgrade, even better, as it gives you more capacity for using items. Also, having the Hookshot is absolutely essential for this phase, so make sure it's assigned to one of your Y/X/Z buttons for quick access. A few Fairy Potions or a Great Fairy's Tear wouldn't hurt either, just in case you take a few unexpected hits – it’s always good to be prepared. Now, for the actual Puppet Ganon snake fight. When he transforms into that giant, segmented serpent, the arena changes, and the key is to understand his movement patterns and exploit his weaknesses. I found that he typically lunges at you, trying to slam his head down or sweep across the platform. Your primary goal is to expose the glowing orb, which is his weak point. This orb will appear either on his head or, more commonly, at the tip of his tail. Staying mobile and dodging his attacks is crucial; his movements are quite predictable once you get the hang of them. My go-to strategy usually involves keeping a medium distance. When Puppet Ganon coils or makes a large sweeping attack, watch closely for his tail. Often, after a big move, he'll leave his tail exposed for a brief moment. That's your cue! Quickly draw your bow and fire an arrow directly at the glowing orb on his tail. A well-placed arrow will stun him, and this is where the Hookshot comes into play. Once he's stunned, quickly aim your Hookshot at the glowing orb on his head and grapple towards him. As soon as you're close, unleash a flurry of sword attacks on his head before he recovers. The more hits you get in, the faster this phase will go. Sometimes, the tail might not be easily exposed, or you might struggle with the timing. This is when the spotlights above the arena become incredibly useful. I discovered that if you lure Puppet Ganon into one of the illuminated areas, he becomes disoriented and temporarily stunned. This gives you another excellent opportunity to use your Hookshot on his head and get those sword hits in. Just be mindful of your positioning, as the spotlights move, and you don't want to accidentally fall into the dark, watery abyss surrounding the platform. It's a long climb back up! Don't get too greedy with your attacks. After a few hits, back off, regain your composure, and prepare for his next movement. This fight is all about patience and precision. It might take a few tries to nail down the timing, but once you understand his tells and master the arrow-to-Hookshot-to-sword combo, you'll feel incredibly satisfied as you watch Puppet Ganon's snake form crumble. You got this, fellow hero!
