Oh my gosh, I still can't believe I finally got my Shiny Tapu Fini! The original post was just a quick update, but seriously, the journey to find this gorgeous guardian deity was intense. If you're wondering how to get your own shiny, let me spill some tea on my hunting experience in Pokémon Sword/Shield. First off, the grind for any legendary shiny is no joke, and Tapu Fini, with its Pokedex number 0726, is no exception. I spent what felt like forever soft-resetting for this beauty. For those new to shiny hunting, soft-resetting means saving your game in front of the Pokémon, encountering it, and if it's not shiny, closing the game and reopening it without saving until you get that sparkling animation. It takes immense patience, but seeing that distinct shiny form of Tapu Fini pop up was absolutely worth every single reset! Beyond its stunning shiny appearance, Tapu Fini is an absolute powerhouse, especially with its signature ability, Misty Surge. This ability instantly sets up Misty Terrain when Tapu Fini enters the battle. And let me tell you, Misty Terrain is a game-changer! It protects grounded Pokémon from status conditions like sleep, paralysis, and poison, and it also halves the damage of Dragon-type moves. I've found it incredibly useful in my online battles, completely throwing off opponents who rely on status effects. Plus, seeing the Misty Terrain animation spread across the battlefield is just so aesthetically pleasing! And of course, we have to talk about Moonblast. This Fairy-type move is not only powerful but also has a chance to lower the target’s Special Attack. Pairing that with Tapu Fini's natural bulk and special attack stats makes it a formidable opponent. I've had so many clutch moments where Moonblast secured a victory against a tough Dragon or Fighting-type Pokémon. As one of the Alolan guardian deities, Tapu Fini brings so much lore and competitive utility to any team. It's not just a pretty face; it's a strategic asset. If you're considering hunting for a shiny legendary in Sword/Shield, I wholeheartedly recommend going for Tapu Fini. The challenge is real, but the reward of having this majestic water/fairy type on your side, especially with its unique Misty Terrain setup and potent Moonblast, is unparalleled. Don't give up on your shiny hunt – that sparkle is waiting for you!
