What I’ve learned during this isolation season

•You need to conserve your energy

What is worth my energy?

-Some calls I’d have to ignore, not because I was beefing or cutting anyone off. I just needed to recharge. I needed to stop putting so much energy out because so little was coming in. I started to prioritize what brought in replenishment that was sustainable opposed to what just wanted to connect because of my motion or be a distraction. Showing up in the form of “catching up” convos and sharing accomplishments. Some interactions are so subtle && innocent they actually derail you from being disciplined. Because you give an hour or two to a conversation that overall goes well, but now you’re cognitively tired and need to reset by taking a few minutes to regulate but it’s already close to the time you estimated you’d be finished with that one task. Which takes us into stewardship!

•God is developing your stewardship

-I realized I had everything I needed, I just needed to manage it better. From money, time, && resources.

No im not a millionaire (yet) but I make due with what I have. A few times I would reflect on how my finances would have come out better had I not been so careless in the beginning of the month && say no to more purchases. Example: buy the coffee cups from the grocery store $9.98 for 10 opposed to $2.00 per cup of coffee at 7-Eleven. Also, with my time. Keep small talk to a minimum when i see acquaintances out && about && i know i have somewhere to be by a specific time or i want to be working on a project i set out to do by a certain time. Ex: I want to be home working on a project by 2 PM and it’s 1:30 pm && I see a friend while leaving the store, it takes me 20 minutes to get home. I will catch up for less than 5 minutes then leave, opposed to talking for 20 minutes and getting home past 2.

-Also, making sure im utilizing my time management skills to meet daily goals to keep consistent with my daily routines helped reduce my level of stress since I would group my tasks by like 3/day.

Lastly…..

•Rest

this is what saved me! Sitting my behind down && doing absolutely nothing helps me to keep my motion from coming to a stop!

No phone calls, no tv or just my favorite movie so I can doze off, or some light meditation music.

Just sitting there knowing I have nothing to do sets my brain && body at ease && is my treat!

There’s so much more I’ve learned but this is just some basics I thought I’d share for anyone looking for some tips, advice or encouragement for their own personal journey 🫶🏾🌹
