apps I swear by as a Social Media Manager

As a social media manager, these are some of my favorite tools so far! I have had such great experiences with each of these platforms, and will continue to use them for a long time!!

I also have quite a few apps that I decidedly do not use… should I do a pros and cons post about all the apps i’ve tried?

... Read moreAs a social media manager, there's often a certain aesthetic associated with the job – a comfy desk, a laptop, coffee, and a perfectly organized workflow. But beyond the picture, what truly makes an SMM’s life efficient and enjoyable are the right tools. I've spent countless hours trying different apps, and I’m excited to share how my top picks truly integrate into my daily routine to create that seamless, productive flow you often see. First up, let’s talk about Planoly. While it’s fantastic for visual grid planning and scheduling, what I truly appreciate is how it helps me maintain brand consistency. It's not just about drag-and-drop; it’s about anticipating how my content will look days or weeks in advance. My personal hack is to use its weekly ideas as a starting point, then customize them heavily to fit my clients' unique voices. Getting up to 30 posts a month scheduled in advance has been a lifesaver, ensuring I always have fresh content without feeling rushed. Then there’s Canva – truly a graphic design powerhouse for SMMs. I've found that its vast library of templates is invaluable when I need to create stunning visuals quickly. Whether it’s Instagram Stories, Pinterest pins, or even quick ad creatives, Canva's Photoshop-quality tools allow me to design professional-looking content without needing advanced design software. It's my go-to for making every post pop, aligning perfectly with that visually appealing social media manager aesthetic. For seamless client collaboration, nothing beats Google Drive. The shared drives feature is a game-changer for content submission and approval. Instead of endless email threads with attachments, I organize everything by client and campaign. This extensive storage keeps all our assets – from videos to finalized graphics – in one accessible place, making feedback loops incredibly efficient. It's key to maintaining an organized digital workspace, which is crucial when you’re juggling multiple clients. And for video content, Capcut is simply unparalleled for TikTok and Reels. The ability to export videos in stunning 4K resolution makes a massive difference in quality, ensuring my short-form content looks sharp and professional. At just $10 a month, it offers so many features that help create engaging, dynamic videos that truly capture attention. It’s perfect for crafting those viral-worthy clips that are so essential on platforms like TikTok and Instagram. Beyond content creation, Notion and Trello are my secret weapons for staying organized. Notion is where I manage my personal planning, track finances, and even outline long-term content strategies. It’s incredibly flexible for building custom workflows. For team projects or more straightforward to-do lists, Trello is brilliant. Its board-style interface helps me visualize tasks and deadlines, ensuring nothing falls through the cracks. These apps are the backbone of my organized SMM desk, allowing me to focus on creativity rather than getting lost in administrative chaos. Lastly, Pinterest is my ultimate source of inspiration. Whenever I hit a creative block or need fresh ideas for a campaign, diving into Pinterest provides endless visual stimulation. It’s not just for home decor; it’s a treasure trove for content ideas, aesthetic trends, and mood boarding that fuels my creative process. These tools, used together, don't just help me manage social media; they help me thrive as a social media manager, providing the structure and creative freedom to truly excel.
