Not Leaving Sober….

5/2 Edited to

... Read moreMaintaining sobriety is a deeply personal journey that involves more than just refraining from alcohol or substances—it requires ongoing commitment, self-awareness, and support. From my own experience and from listening to many in recovery, a key element that helps is building a routine that fosters positive habits and emotional health. Engaging in activities such as exercise, meditation, and creative pursuits not only keeps the mind focused but also replaces opportunities for old habits. Another important aspect is embracing a supportive community, whether it’s through formal groups like Alcoholics Anonymous or informal networks of trusted friends and family. Having people who understand the struggles and can offer encouragement makes a significant difference. Challenges are inevitable, such as dealing with stress, social situations, or moments of doubt. A practical approach I found helpful is to identify triggers early and develop strategies to manage them, such as deep breathing exercises or reaching out to a supportive person. Lastly, self-compassion is vital. It's common to face setbacks, but viewing them as learning experiences rather than failures helps maintain motivation. Remembering why sobriety is important and celebrating small victories contributes to long-term success. Staying sober is not just about avoiding substances; it’s about reclaiming one’s life and building a fulfilling future.

I’M NOT SOBER ANYMORE.
My post about being zero days sober is still receiving likes, so I thought I’d post an update. It’s been hard. No matter how hard I try, I always end up using again. I found a therapist who also specializes in AODA. We’ve only had one session so far, but she seems great. I’ve been open about my

2 months & 3 days sober
I save over $400/month not endulging in my habit. I feel more calm when I am gathering my things to leave the house for the day. I don’t have a cough anymore. I can sing in the car without my throat drying out. I feel in control of my life. I have more time in my day to do thing

Tomorrow I am 200 days sober… 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻 and last night I cried myself to sleep. 😭 Sobriety is SO hard sometimes. I get SO mad that I can’t just have “one margarita.” Because maybe I could have just one that night… but I know myself. I know the next morning I would wake up CRAVING tequila. A

Sober Mom 🫶🏻🤍
Last night Doug and I were laying in bed talking about how much guilt I still carry from being such a drunk and depressed mom during Maddie’s senior year. 😭 Ugh! I hate myself for it honestly… I told him how thankful I am that I got to be more present during Kiki’s senior year and be the Mom G

✨10 TIPS TO STAY SOBER✨
As of today, I stayed 🔟 months sober and alcohol-free… how did I do it? 1. Romanticize the sober life. Make your mocktails pretty. Buy yourself flowers. Light a candle before your nightly tea. Sobriety isn’t punishment — it’s peace. 2. Get clear on your why. Write it down. Read it often. I
