If the parties are absent or absconded after the accident, it is most important to keep the evidence complete for use in notifying insurance and taking legal action if necessary. Here is a list of the evidence that should be provided:

• Picture of the license plate (if applicable): If you see the license plate of the party, take it immediately.

• Short video clip: recounts event details such as time, location, and crash characteristics

• Front camera or CCTV: Check if there is a camera image recording the incident.

• Witness: If someone witnessed the incident, ask for a name and contact number.

• Notify the Police Immediately: To provide for the posting of daily records used as legal evidence and in insurance claims.

• Notify your insurer: Especially if there is 1st class insurance, the company will help fix it first and recourse it from the parties later.
