Hey Lemon8 fam! So many of you have been asking about the inspiration behind my new single, 'Skeletons,' dropping on February 13th. I really wanted to dive into a mysterious, slightly eerie vibe with this track. When I was writing it, I was thinking a lot about those moments when you feel like you're facing something unknown, something hidden beneath the surface – kind of like uncovering old secrets. The phrase 'no face.' from an early demo really stuck with me, symbolizing that feeling of confronting the unknown or a past that's just out of reach, almost like looking at a skull without its features, hinting at a story untold and a mystery yet to be solved. Sometimes, the most 'scary' things aren't necessarily jump scares or overt horror, but the unsettling feeling of what you don't see, or the subtle dread evoked by implied stories and silences. That's the atmosphere I truly aimed to capture in 'Skeletons.' I imagine the accompanying visuals for this song, perhaps in an album art or concept video, would be super atmospheric. We'd play with deep shadows, flickering lights, and abstract forms rather than literal, graphic 'scary skeleton pictures.' It's more about the psychological chill, the building suspense, and the eerie beauty that can be found in what's hidden, hinting at the depths of human emotion and memory. Think of it as a sonic journey into a shadowy, forgotten place, where echoes of the past linger. Creating music with a darker, more introspective theme like this can be a really cathartic process for me as an artist.
