จากประสบการณ์ตรงที่เจอรอยกัดถุงขนมในห้องพักโรงแรม ผมขอแชร์วิธีรับมือและข้อควรระวังสำหรับคนที่ต้องเดินทางเข้าพักในโรงแรมครับ ก่อนอื่น อยากแนะนำให้ตรวจสอบห้องพักให้ละเอียดตั้งแต่ก้าวแรกที่เข้าห้อง เช่น ดูร่องรอยรูตามผนัง หรือตามมุมที่มักมีช่องว่างที่หนูสามารถเข้ามาได้ ซึ่งในกรณีนี้พบว่าเป็นรูเล็ก ๆ สำหรับสายไฟตามมุมผนังที่สามารถเป็นทางขึ้นของหนูได้ ถ้าพบร่องรอยของหนูหรือแม้กระทั่งกลิ่นผิดปกติ ควรแจ้งพนักงานโรงแรมทันทีและขอย้ายห้อง หรือขอความช่วยเหลือในการแก้ไข เพราะโรงแรมหลายแห่งมีมาตรการจัดการอย่างรวดเร็วเพื่อความปลอดภัยและสุขอนามัยของลูกค้า สำหรับการเก็บอาหารในห้องพัก ควรปิดถุงหรือเก็บไว้ในภาชนะที่มีฝาปิดแน่นหนา เพื่อป้องกันไม่ให้อาหารตกเป็นเป้าหมายของหนูหรือแมลง ประสบการณ์ครั้งนี้สอนให้ผมระวังและไม่ประมาทเรื่องความสะอาดในที่พักที่ดูจากภายนอกอาจดูดี แต่ก็อาจมีปัจจัยแฝงที่เรามองไม่เห็น เช่นสัตว์เข้าถึงพื้นที่โดยง่าย ถือเป็นบทเรียนที่มีประโยชน์สำหรับนักเดินทางทุกคนครับ
