Talking about determination?
After 9 rejections from the same company since 2023 (this company is really hard to get into, for some reason😅), I finally got the job offer! (Well two weeks ago) 🙌 It's a moment I've been working towards for so long, and it's all the more sweet because of the journey I've been on.
As a mom of two little ones, I've had to make some tough choices along the way. My husband's military career has meant that we've had to move around, and when he went away for 9 months + back to back NTC, and I've often had to put my career on the backburner to take care of our kids.
My oldest is in kindergarten, and my youngest, who used to be in daycare, is now with me full-time after we moved to a new city. My husband and I decided that I'd keep him home, and I've been searching for a remote job that would allow me to balance work and family life.
The job market can be brutal, and I've faced my fair share of naysayers who think I should be content with being a stay-at-home mom. But I've always known that I want more, a career that fulfills me and allows me to provide for my family. And you know what? I don't have time for other people's judgments. I'm too busy minding my own business and doing what's best for me and my loved ones.
I'm ecstatic to share that I've landed a job that works for me! No more lengthy commutes, no more sacrificing family time, I get to do it all from the comfort of my own home. It's not just about the flexibility; it's about being present for my kids' milestones and memories.
I actually applied in indeed, LinkedIn, and handshakes and I kid you not, I applied more than 500 jobs since last year either office or remote jobs, and If you're reading this and thinking, "Wow, 500+ job applications? That's crazy!", trust me, it's not just a number. It's a testament to the determination and resilience required to navigate today's job market. But if you're feeling stuck or discouraged, I want you to know that it's possible to achieve your goals, no matter what obstacles come your way.
