Shanghai Hotel near the Bund

SAVHE Hotel North Bund Shanghai

Pros

• Great customer service

During check-in, you will add them via wechat and all communications can be done there (they are v responsive). We were also given the option to choose 1 out of 3 fragrances for the room. It only lasts a day and is quite subtle, which we appreciated since we are not big fans of scents.

If you want to order delivery, you can get a china number from the hotel staff. Food will be delivered to your doorstep via a robot - super convenient.

• Amenities / Services

24/7 gym, with mineral water and bananas provided!

There is breakfast buffet, afternoon snacks and supper provided in their restaurant. On Fri and Sat night, there is live music performances and even a complimentary glass of red/white wine.

Cons

• If you are someone looking for nice views then this hotel may not be for you. It is a relatively low-rise building so the highest floor is level 6. We don't mind the view as we love the modern japandi interior of the hotel!

• No smart TV so no watching of netflix etc.

• Soundproofing not done very well!

• Even though walking to the bund takes you around 5 min, the hotel is about a 10 min walk from the train station. It can be quite a fair bit of walk though the path is spacious.. also, no shelters when it rains! There is a bus stop right outside the hotel though.

Overall, we do enjoy our stay here. The hotel staff are very attentive and welcoming! The modern japandi interior is really peaceful and relaxing. Will recommend 7.8/10!

... Read moreIf you're planning to stay at SAVHE Hotel, it helps to know a few extra tips to make your visit even smoother. The hotel’s unique use of robots for food delivery adds a futuristic touch and ensures your meals arrive quickly and hygienically. Don’t hesitate to ask staff for a China phone number to facilitate deliveries or local bookings. For fitness enthusiasts, the 24/7 gym availability with complimentary mineral water and bananas is a thoughtful perk, perfect for maintaining your routine even while traveling. Breakfast, afternoon snacks, and supper are all included, and the weekend live music paired with complimentary wine creates a lovely atmosphere for winding down. However, if having a stunning city view is a priority for you, note that SAVHE Hotel’s building height is limited, with the top floor at level 6, so the views from rooms are modest. The soundproofing could be improved, so bringing earplugs might help light sleepers. Location-wise, the hotel is about a 5-minute walk from the Bund, ideal for evening strolls, but it’s a 10-minute walk from the train station with no sheltered path, so plan accordingly, especially on rainy days. Public transport access is convenient with a bus stop right outside, and the modern japandi interior design offers a calming retreat after busy days exploring Shanghai. Overall, this hotel delivers a great balance of comfort, thoughtful amenities, and friendly service near the vibrant North Bund area.
