Hormonal Girlie Supplements to Look Into 💕

For the hormonal, PCOS, PMDD and PMS girlies!

Here are some supplements Ive personally added to my regimen with great results! Remember to always do your own research and/ or talk to your doctor before starting supplements. I’m just a stranger on the internet sharing what I’ve learned along my own personal journey with PCOS and PMDD, not your healthcare professional! 💕

🩶 Vitamin D - when I had PCOS related hair loss, my dermatologist immediately started me on Vitamin D. Even with taking it for years, my levels are always low 😭 but taking it has raised them from severely low to almost adequate lol.

💜 Go With The Flow - i take these religiously about two weeks before my cycle to combat the luteal phase mood swings!

💙 5HTP - another staple in my medicine cabinet for those months when moods and emotional sensitivities are on high.

🩵 Cal/Mag/Zinc - a liquid vitamin! Liquid vitamins make me pretty nauseous so I mix half the dose with a full bottle of water to manage it! Another luteal phase warrior.

💚 St John’s Wort - been using these for years. A natural “happy pill” if you will. Should NOT take this if youre on birth control and shouldnt be taken at the same time as 5 HTP .

🧡 Probiotics - I always keep probiotics on deck and rotate through brands honestly, but good for overall gut microbiome health.

Have you tried any of these? What are your go to hormonal hacks!?

... Read moreManaging hormonal imbalances like PCOS, PMDD, and PMS can be challenging, but incorporating specific supplements into your daily routine can make a significant difference. From personal experience, adding Vitamin D was an essential first step, especially when dealing with PCOS-related hair loss. Despite supplementation, Vitamin D levels can remain lower than ideal, so regular testing and adjustments are important. One supplement I find particularly helpful during the luteal phase—the period before menstruation—is "Go With The Flow." This herbal blend works to ease severe PMS symptoms, including mood swings, making it easier to maintain emotional balance. 5-HTP is another staple in my medicine cabinet; it supports serotonin production, which is crucial for stabilizing mood and coping with irritability and emotional sensitivity. However, it’s vital to avoid combining 5-HTP with St John's Wort simultaneously, as both influence serotonin pathways and may interact adversely. Liquid vitamins like Calcium, Magnesium, and Zinc are excellent luteal phase support but can sometimes cause nausea. To counter this, diluting the dose with ample water helps maintain tolerance while still reaping the benefits of these essential minerals for stress reduction and muscle health. St John’s Wort has been part of my regimen for years as a natural mood enhancer. It's often referred to as a "happy pill," but it's critical to avoid this supplement if you’re taking birth control due to possible interactions. Lastly, probiotics play a key role in supporting gut health, which can influence hormonal regulation. Rotating through different brands ensures a diverse range of beneficial bacteria stays introduced to promote a healthy microbiome. When incorporating any of these supplements, I highly recommend consulting your healthcare provider, especially given the complexities of hormonal disorders. Personal trials were crucial for me to find what works best safely and effectively on my hormonal journey.
