We just tried a pocket-free plan to Germany. Check out this idea in case anyone wants to trace it!
✈️. Airfare.
• Keep an eye on the Low-Cost Airline Pro Deal (e.g. Scoot, AirAsia X + leg extension)
• Book 3-6 months in advance, may find round-trip price Bangkok-Frankfurt starting around 18,000-22,000 baht (lower season)
🏨. Accommodation.
• Hostel / Dorm bed starts 700-1,200 baht per night
• If many people go, Airbnb shares a room that falls 800-1,000 baht each.
• Cities where accommodation is worth: Berlin, Leipzig, Frankfurt (a lot cheaper outside the city)
🚆 Travel
• Buy German Rail Pass (students / up to 27 on sale)
• Inside the city use U-Bahn / S-Bahn day / week ticket, about 3-5 Euro / day
• Cross-town FlixBus starts 5-15 Euro (cheaper than trains)
🍞 Food
• Supermarkets Aldi / Lidl / Rewe: bread, sausage, fruit, 3-5 euros per meal
• Döner Kebab Shop / Currywurst Large Plate 5-7 Euro
• Water Water Buy Big Pack That Super Will Be Worth Most (Expensive Water Restaurant!)
🎟️ Free places / student prices
• Free view of Brandenburg Gate, East Side Gallery (Berlin)
• Many museums halve the price if they have a student card.
• Old town, the Heidelberg, Rothenburg. Free stroll to the city.
